I’m writing you from a magical creekside temple home in the east bay. The entire home is a living altar. It’s a “pictures won’t do it justice” situation, because it’s not just about the aesthetic. It’s a multi-sensory ceremonial experience, abundant in life energy and spirit.

If an alien came to this planet and asked me to be their tour guide and bring them to a home with “good energy”, we would come here.

One of my kindred-elven-fairy-sisters invited me to come stay here while she’s out of town and I said yes to the opportunity to spend some days breathing fresh air, and having a personal retreat to recharge before I return home and resume offering craniosacral sessions at no charge to folks who lost their homes in the fires.

It’s been such a gift to be here this week, and in full honesty and I hope understandably, a part of me doesn’t want to leave, doesn’t want to go back to LA, doesn’t want to go home. That part’s here, not gonna lie.

I’ve gone on magical hikes with fresh green foliage and good smelling air.

I returned after a 14 year hiatus to the sunday morning ecstatic dance in Oakland, at which I used to be a regular, and was truly, TRULY overwhelmed with so much gratitude, beholding the beauty of people expressing themselves so freely through movement.

I went to an event last night co-created by 2 BADASS WOMEN who inspired the HELL out of me, called INAUGURATING HUMANITY that was exquisitely facilitated, and basically made me fall madly in love with the heart of the spiritual/activist/earthy bay area culture all over again.

I really belong here. That’s how I feel. That doesn’t actually mean that I want to live here - but I am reflecting this week on how truly profound an impact the bay area alternative culture has had on me from spending a lot of my early 20s here. To feel a sense of belonging in a community and culture has given me an inner power I’m never without, and only now, on this visit after so many others through these years, am I seeing this so clearly.

Some of you may remember that LAST winter, I hosted something I called mmm cacao (monday morning meditation + cacao), every monday for the entire winter season.

The gist: beginning a new week, together.

• arrive, quietly get settled into a comfy seat

• be served warm water + a cup of cacao

• 30 min silent meditation

• drink more cacao, share some cozy morning words together
