A Lot Is Going On For Me. I’m sitting here trying to decide what to share about - because SO MUCH has happened. including: the beautiful feeling of being able to text a friend “I’m coming to sleep there tonight and I’ll be there in 30 min” - without needing to ask. The Trust. The Love. The Knowing. a profound return to deep relating with nature. I spent a week in La Cañada and went hiking every evening- these hikes were intoxicating - I would look forward to them every day in a way I haven’t looked forward to something in a long time. playing w a 5/5/5 morning practice (5 min writing 5 min meditation 5 min yoga) and totally loving it what started as some casual research of the “Glucose Goddess” approach to eating, opened me up into a GG-informed way of eating that has been MAJOR for me. I’m not fully adhering (ahem, coffee + scone rn ) but: One thing: I’ve always been a morning-beverage-before-a-proper-meal person and it’s felt so strange to eat some bites of greens and beans in the morning before my cacao or occasional coffee, but I’m definitely experiencing more groundedness and sustained energy. #GG-informed many deep personal reflections while I’ve been here in San Diego…. BUT THE BIGGEST BULLETPOINT OF ALL IS: supported by listening to probably about 20 episodes so far of The Minimalists podcast, I’m going through a transformation of my relationship with my STUFF.
I’ve always been an absolute nerd for decluttering - I do it all the time. I LOVE getting rid of stuff - I’m a “Top Contributor” in my local Buy Nothing group on FB cuz I give away so many things - and yet - I always feel like I have too.much.stuff. I have said soooooo many times to friends that I want them to come over and offer me their unique perspectives on the things that I rationalize holding onto. My friend Chelsey helped me a couple years ago and it was INCREDIBLE to receive the support. I’m drinking in The Minimalists content (here’s an episode I loved: Simplify, Simplify, Simplify - I particularly love where it goes a ways into it, exploring attachment to outdated identities and allowing for the truth of evolution (that maaay be me paraphrasing in mu speak ;) I’m learning that minimalism isn’t necessarily about that beige-bland minimalist aesthetic - it’s not necessarily an aesthetic thing at all. It’s different things to different people. I’m loving being on the journey and I’ll have a lot more to say over emails to come because I am feeling super inspired to help other people who also want to simplify/minimize. I’ve got some really beautiful ideas coming together about what this would look like - I not only want to help you declutter, but help you initiate your home as a sacred space that reflects your values, current identity, and deepest prayers. An Offering Is Growing In My Womb. It’s still becoming, but will look something like this: Part 1: Clarifying your vision and intention for how you want to feel, what you want to embody, who you want to be, so that as we work through your home space together we have a guideline of what we are aligning you to Part 2: The Clearing (decluttering, letting go, making space) Part 3: Ceremonialize! Led by the senses, let’s make your space a ceremonial-grade sanctuary. Dimmer switches, subtle 100% natural botanical scents, natural fiber textures around you, etc Part 4: Medicine journey in your own ceremony space, honoring who you are now and who you are becoming.
