Dear Community,

Big change is on the horizon, as I’m preparing to break free.

This might sound weird, but the image/felt sense that’s suddenly coming to mind right now: Corn Silk.

You know? Those white “hairs” that are revealed when you pull the leaves to shuck the corn?

They are coming to mind as I think about this “untethering” process I’m in. I’ve felt very tethered for many years to my life in LA. Perhaps even tied down with heavy duty rope (obviously self created)…just really bound to living here.

and (thank goodness), things change.

and now? as I prepare to leave (though slowly?) it’s more like I’m bound to LA by cornsilk. and as I currently awaken my being and wiggle my joints preparing to get up and take off, I can feel the gentle and painless cornsilk ripping free as my body moves further from the surface underneath it.

Lol, weird. I sat down thinking “I’ll write about decluttering or bodywork!” and now we’re talking cornsilk.

Omg, I just looked up pics of cornsilk to add here and was reminded of the fact that every corn kernel is attached to it’s very own silk!

This feels more aligned by the minute! Every part of me (of which there are thousands, I promise, it’s very complex in here) attached to it’s own silk, and each one coming free in it’s own time.

Upstate New York: Aug 1 — Nov 1

Anyway —

I’m still squaring away the details for my first sublet in Woodstock, for August and some of September. It’s a sweet cozy spot with a woodstove and a creek right outside (water sounds!)

I’ve already begun preparations for subletting out my house here. My friend Brittany came over and helped me move things around, to help simplify the final reorganization that will happen in the last week of July as I make space for my subletter. I’m enjoying getting a really thorough look at what I own, doing some decluttering and a real sense of what’s where.

I’m SO CURIOUS to see what I choose to declutter when I get BACK from 3 months away.

I’ve been in LA for 13 years, and I’ve never left for more than 1 month at a time, and I did that maybe twice.

This is different and I’m excited!

The future is yet to be revealed about when exactly I pack up all my stuff and move it east, but this 3 month container feels accessible, digestible, supportive, friendly and hopeful.

For those of you who would like to do a session of any nature, now is the time to schedule. I have only one Saturday remaining for journey clients (some weekdays available), and scattered availability for craniosacral, Sacrum Belly Breath, and decluttering support.
